The dog's immune system
Dogs explore the world while sniffing, licking and chewing. During these crazy, daily adventures, our four-legged friends are constantly bombarded by all sorts of things, including germs and harmful substances. Fortunately, our dear dog's body is equipped to withstand these hostile attacks. The immune system and natural barriers such as the skin and membranes of the respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive organs, among others, take care of that. So in other words, an optimally functioning immune system is essential to keeping your beloved dog healthy. The immune system of young adult dogs is naturally stronger than that of puppies and senior dogs. Therefore, the latter can often use some extra support. However, negative influences such as stress, painful conditions, obesity and illness can also weaken the immune system, making your dog more vulnerable to infections and diseases.
